Chanukah
Chanukah is coming up very soon, so we all need to get ready. As many of you know, Yeshua celebrated Chanukah (John 10:22-23). It’s very possible that He was conceived on Chanukah because if we jump 9 months ahead, it takes us to Sukkot, the true birthdate of our Messiah. Chanukah is known as the Feast of Dedication. The Israelites had a mighty victory over the Syrian King, Antiochus Epiphanes, so they wanted to celebrate by cleansing the temple from the disgusting sacrifices he performed and because he erected an idol of himself in the Holy of Holies, and everyone was to worship him. Now that is chutzpah!
Just as the Maccabees had to rise up during the time of Chanukah, it’s time for us to rise up. They didn’t just sit back passively and let the Syrians overtake them. We too, have to fight because the enemy is trying to overtake us and force us to accept his sinful ways and to reject our ways of righteousness. As children of God, we are eagles. Instead, we are acting like ostriches. When trouble comes, ostriches stick their head in the sand. They’re fearful. Ostriches can’t fly. They can just flap their wings but they never take off. As children of God, we are eagles. We are meant to be bold. We can soar above the fray. We can see the situation from a heavenly perspective. We don’t run and we don’t hide. We attack the situation head-on. Our weapons of warfare are our prayers. With our prayers, we can demolish every stronghold.
It’s time to cleanse our temples and get rid of any idols in our lives and rededicate our lives to God. God is the source of our strength. Why are so many people being affected by the lies the media is pouring out? Yeshua came for several reasons: He came to set the captives free, but He also came to bring forth the truth, for He is the way, the truth, and the life. It’s time to get back to the Living Word of God, which is the ultimate truth. It’s time to hear what the true prophets of God are saying at this time. Don’t listen to the false prophets, but hear what the true prophets of God have to say. Listen to what God has to say to you. Most of all, be comforted because we have the ultimate victory!
